Retired Crayola Colors

Occasionally, after years of faithful service, it comes time for a Crayola color to retire. Since 1903, when Crayola launched its first eight colors, there have been two sets of retirements, one in more glamorous circumstances than the other...

Colors that retired in 1990 (these colors were enshrined in the Crayola Hall of Fame)

Green Blue
Orange Red
Orange Yellow
Violet Blue
Maize
Lemon Yellow
Blue Gray
Raw Umber

Colors that retired in 2003 (these colors were booted off by consumers - who also named new colors - to mark Crayola's 100th anniversary)

Blizzard Blue
Magic Mint
Mulberry
Teal Blue
